History

Women With Heart (WWH) is a volunteer organization established in 2009 dedicated to raising scholarship funds for the Eilene Maupin Scholarship Fund, which supports emerging health care professionals. The WWH Initiative has provided $1.25 million in scholarship support awards to MSM students. The recipients of these scholarships have demonstrated a commitment to heart health and a deep concern for providing healthcare for traditionally underserved patients in communities across the nation.

Another critical tenet of the WWH Initiative is to engage with the community during Heart Healthy Week to promote healthy lifestyles and increase community awareness of heart health and cardiovascular disease risks factors through complimentary health screenings for vulnerable populations such as senior citizens on the MSM campus, a women's luncheon, and men's breakfast.
