The Division of General Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine constitute the core of the clinical and teaching services for the Department of Pediatrics. Our work influences the medical career of every medical student and Pediatric resident at MSM. Our clinical work is organized into four Services: Hospital Medicine, Primary Care, Adolescent and Sexual Health and Newborn Care. With twelve faculty members we provide care at nine clinical sites spread over metro Atlanta.
Faculty members in the Division provide clinical supervision, teaching (didactic and bedside), resident and student advising, and curriculum development. We collaborate with the Clerkship Division and GME to assure teaching content is aligned with requirements set forth by the ACGME and the LCGME. All of our members sit on the Resident Advisory Committee. Along with the required courses for the clerkship and residency programs we have developed several elective courses for the medical students. Our newest course is an Inpatient Elective at Scottish Rite.
