Department of Psychiatry Receives $1.5 million Award from Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration
The Department of Psychiatry received a $1.5 million award from the Substance Abuse
and Mental Health Services Administration to continue to serve as the HBCU Center
for Excellence in Behavioral Health.
The purpose of this program is to continue to enhance the effort to network the 105 HBCUs throughout the United States to promote behavioral health, expand campus behavioral health service capacity, and facilitate workforce development. Dr. Mattox will serve as PI/project director, Dr. Herrington as co-project director, Dollmesha Green as program manager and Joan Trent as program coordinator. The evaluation component will be provided by MSM’s Prevention Research Center under the leadership of Drs. Tabia Akintobi and Latrice Rollins
