By integrating interdisciplinary approaches and fostering collaboration, the Research Core strives to create impactful solutions that improve surgical practices and outcomes for all patients, regardless of background.

Service/Advocacy Core

The Service/Advocacy Core at the QUEST Center is focused on improving access to high-quality, equitable surgical care through community engagement and policy advocacy. By collaborating with community organizations, healthcare providers, and policymakers, the Service/Advocacy Core advocates for changes that promote equitable access to surgical services, improve patient outcomes, and reduce healthcare costs. The core also ensures that the voices of marginalized communities are heard in the decision-making processes that shape healthcare delivery and policies.

Education Core

The Education Core at the QUEST Center is committed to training the next generation of healthcare leaders who are dedicated to improving surgical care and addressing health disparities. This core provides educational programs and hands-on training to medical students, residents, and fellows, focusing on the importance of quality, equity, and patient-centered care in surgery. Through mentorship, curriculum development, and experiential learning, the Education Core prepares future clinicians and researchers to become advocates for health equity and skilled in delivering the highest standard of surgical care to diverse populations.

Policy Core

The Policy Core at the QUEST Center is dedicated to advocating for policy changes that promote equitable surgical care and improve health outcomes for underserved communities. This core conducts research on healthcare policies and works to influence local, state, and national policies that address disparities in surgical access, quality, and costs.
