How to Submit a Proposal

Principal Investigator (PI)/Faculty

  • Fill out the Intent to Submit (ITS) form in its entirety and submit.
  • Write research plan and statement of work.
  • Prepare other sections of the proposal based on the guidelines, as necessary.
  • Proofread science and edit grammar and formatting.
  • Upload research-related documents in sponsor’s portal.
  • Complete draft proposal 10-business days before sponsor’s submission due date. If not completed before 10-business days, a waiver will be needed GMO 10-Day Exception Request Form.

GMO and Research Administrator

  • Upon receipt of the ITS, a GMO Research Administrator (RA) will be assigned .
  • Once assigned, the RA will review the ITS and funding opportunity announcement.
  • The RA will initiate your application in the sponsor’s portal based on the completed ITS form.
  • The RA will assist with your budget and budget justification and coordinate with external collaborators (subrecipients and collaborators) to collect necessary documentation.
  • Once the PI completes uploading research-related documents, the RA will review the application in the sponsor’s portal and confirm validation of the application.
  • Once validated, your final application will route to the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) for Review, Final Approval, and Submission 5-business days before sponsor’s submission due date. If not completed before 5-business days, a waiver will be needed OSP 5-Day Exception Request Form.
