The Atlanta Clinical and Translational Science Institute (ACTSI) was created by a Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA) to Emory University School of Medicine. Emory has two major partners: MSM and Georgia Tech.
ACTSI’s mission: Through focused education and training, innovative support of discovery, and ethical community engagement, the collaborative partners of the Atlanta Clinical & Translational Science Institute rapidly and efficiently translate scientific discoveries to impact all populations of the Atlanta community and beyond.

ACTSI has 11 cores (programs). One of these is the Community Engagement Research Program (CERP), which is headed by Morehouse School of Medicine. CERP transforms research from a scientist-subject interaction that generates publishable data to a more equitable partnership - one in which the process of research, as well as the outcomes, benefit both the researchers and the community. This will lead to a reduction in health disparities.
