Jenifer Cooper
Graphic Designer, Office of Marketing & Communications
Jenifer Cooper is a graphic designer, video producer, and sometimes writer. Originally from Ellicott City, Maryland, she moved to Atlanta where she attended Agnes Scott College, a small, private women’s college. After earning a degree in sociology, she remained at Agnes Scott in the Office of Admissions where she started as a student tour guide and within six years became the director of admissions. While at ASC, Jenifer was the first co-chair for the Committee on Community Diversity and later served on their Alumnae Board.
Her following six years, Jenifer served as the vice president at Melia Design Group, an interactive and graphic design studio leading their marketing and new business development efforts. She coordinated complex interactive and print projects for such clients as The College Board, Emory Healthcare, Harley-Davidson, VH1 music network, and Turner networks. She was the producer for and winner of a Telly award for a Harley-Davidson licensed video documenting 450 bikers who made an historic two-week trip across Route 66—riding as a passenger on the back of a Harley for the 2,300-mile trip.
As director of marketing and corporate development for Carnegie Communications, an educational publishing and consulting company outside of Boston, Jenifer was responsible for launching an international recruitment magazine and establishing the company’s Creative Communications division. She formed a critical alliance with the European Council for International Schools to launch a magazine, American Colleges & Universities.
With her own company of 22 years, Cooperworks, Inc., Jenifer served as a strategist, change agent, graphic designer, and video producer. Her experience spans a wide range of branding initiatives for foundations, colleges and universities, and corporate clients including Tuskegee University, the Johnnetta B. Cole Institute, Mercer University, Sewanee: The University of the South, The Lasker Foundation, Cox Enterprises, UST Global, and the Fox Theatre Institute.
Jenifer began working with Morehouse School of Medicine last year as a contractor with Dr. David Hefner on the design and direction of Primarily Caring magazine and more recently with Ms. Shondria Covington in the Office of Marketing and Communications as a designer on the annual report.
