The Office of Faculty Affairs & Development

The Faculty Affairs Office's primary goal is to provide resource support for faculty with respect to their professional careers at MSM. The department seeks to ensure fair and consistent treatment of faculty, and to assist academic departments in recruitment, orientation, career development, promotion and retention of faculty and scholars. This department also provides oversight, advice and assistance for the processing of all faculty personnel matters, including the establishment, integration and implementation of personnel policies and procedures.

Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer, Interim Dean of the Office of Faculty Affairs and Academic Development

Welcome to the Morehouse School of Medicine Office of Faculty Affairs and Development website! We are fully committed to supporting the careers of all our faculty members. Our goal is to ensure that they have the resources and guidance needed for success in academic medicine.

In the area of faculty affairs, we are here to support faculty from the early stages of recruitment and on- boarding by working closely with department chairs and human resources. We take pride in warmly welcoming and smoothly transitioning our new recruits into the MSM community. We also closely guide our faculty through the well-earned processes of appointment and promotion.

With respect to faculty development, we feel that professional growth of our faculty is the ultimate key to their success. We support that development with a wealth of internal resources ranging from a monthly faculty development seminar series, programs for enrichment of academic skills, personal career development counseling, and leadership enhancement. We also competitively sponsor participation in external professional development venues facilitated by the American Association of Medical Colleges (AAMC), Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine (ELAM®), and Harvard Macy.
