MSM on a Mission 

Dr. Reinetta WaldropDr. Reinetta Waldrop has been appointed to serve as Co-Chair for the Health Administration Section (HAS) 2016 Program Planning Committee for the American Public Health Administration (APHA). She will also serve in the role as Chair for the Section's 2017 conference to be held in Atlanta. Both roles will require her to be involved in planning the Section's annual educational program for the point of abstract submissions through the daily activities for each day of the conference itself. 

 

MSM Publix Diabetes, Food and YouMSM and Publix partnered on Saturday, November 7th in recognition of Diabetes Awareness Month. MSM alumni, residents and providers joined the Publix pharmacy team at nine metro Atlanta Publix Stores for a day of "Diabetes, Food & You." Participants included Drs. David Blake, Brittnie Fowler, Harold Moore Jr., Michelle Nichols, Fasuyi Omofolarin, Emmanuel Osinuga, and Anna Sikod.

 

SHLI at APHASHLI Health Policy Fellows were well represented among conference presenters at the 143rd APHA Annual Meeting in Chicago Oct. 31-Nov. 4. Fellows presenting on topics related to the conference theme of "Health in All Policies" included current fellow, Angelica Geter, as well as former fellows LeConte Dill, Shanell McGoy, Jammie Hopkins, and Natalie Hernandez.   <<MORE>>



M Delmar Library SCMLAM. Delmar Library staff members Tara Douglas-Williams, Jerrold Mobley, Joe Swanson Jr., Dr. Roland Welmaker and Mary White had papers accepted and were invited to present at the 65th Annual Meeting of the Southern Chapter of the Medical Library Association in San Juan, PR from Oct. 21-25, 2015. Additionally, Mrs. Douglas-Williams and Mr. Swanson were elected to key leadership positions.   <<MORE>>
