MSM on a Mission
Morehouse School of Medicine's 32nd Convocation, White Coat & Pinning Ceremony took place September 16th and 151 new students received the symbol of their chosen
profession and took their first oath of professional medical ethics.
Dr. Robert M. Mayberry has been invited to serve on the Executive Steering Committee of the Atlanta Public
Schools System Comprehensive School Safety Initiative. The initiative, funded (for
five years at $7.5 million) by the National Institute of Justice, will develop, implement,
and evaluate a comprehensive school safety approach in the Atlanta Public Schools
(APS). WestEd is the lead institution in partnership with APS and Georgia State University.
SHLI's Dr. David Satcher and Sharon Rachel's article titled “Promoting Mental Health Equity: The Role of Integrated Care” was
recently published in the Journal of Clinical Psychology in Medical Settings. <<MORE>>
Tuskegee Airmen Global Academy Principal Lincoln Woods recently nominated Morehouse
School of Medicine for the Atlanta Public Schools (APS) Partnership Award and it was announced that MSM is a now a finalist for the award. MSM has already won
the Partnership Award for the Washington Cluster, which consists of Booker T. Washington
High School, Brown Middle School, Tuskegee Airmen Global Academy, and Michael R. Hollis
Innovation Academy, but will now be considered for the award at the system-wide level.

Statistics Friday A free weekly walk-in statistical consulting clinic for faculty, staff, and students
providing 20 minutes of immediate assistance from 10 am - noon for basic statistics
