Research Interests


An advocate of women's health and renowned fertility specialists, Dr. Valerie Montgomery Rice is highly regarded for her involvement in multiple areas which have enhanced women's healthcare delivery and research.  She specializes in reproductive endocrinology, specifically, menopausal health, fibroid disease, infertility and endometreosis.

In the past, she has served as principal investigator of several multi-center trials (i.e., founder of the one of the nation's first research centers - Center for Women’s Health Research - devoted to studying diseases that disproportionately impact women of color).

Currently, she is involved in developing a research partnership with the University of Zambia, which focuses on the development of a vaginal microbicide for the prevention of HIV.
